Before a softball game on the outskirts of Nairobi is a glass factory where they make everything you can imagine out of glass. Mugs, bowls, beads, windows, tables, chairs, swings, etc.. The place is like a fairy tale land and exciting places to go, different small buildings, rooms with gorgeous glass works, a pond inside, and even a place to walk on the roof!
The girls! The guys working on glass blocks they make for the tables..
These furnaces get up to 1,100 degrees... crazy!!
BEAUTIFUL chairs and tables...
A shop with light fixtures!
This is a table being worked on. The legs are wrought iron..
This guy is making a bowl with ridged edges. He shapes it, adds more glass, shapes some more...
Blows it...
Then he swings it to make the ridged edges!
To demonstrate how hot it is he threw a news paper into it and it started this immediately!
The finish project! Now for the 18 hours of cooling it...
The workshop for the tables..
Beautiful bead shop!
The floors!
The fountain inside one of the shops!
Gorgeous stain glass!
I want this table!
And then we got to walk across this!!! Originally, I was going to be the only one to do it, but I talked them into it! I was glad we all got to do it together!
Yep.. That's what we walked on all the way across.. I told Kayla, "Don't look down! Agh! I just made a mistake and looked down!"
The slide! :) So much fun!
Even the potty was pretty! lol Don't laugh...
Me and Kasey swinging inside!
Of course.. I think it looks just like him! (The sticker says Obama by the way...)
Roll Tide Y'all!!!
The glass shop from the outside the glass factory!
